Get on the Champagne Campaign for NYE
A little part of me always gets really sad a few days after Christmas since I know it means that all the fun, festive decor comes down. Then, it hits me that NYE is right around the corner and my excitement builds again!
NYE is the best because I find it to be a holiday that I can relate to on so many levels.
First, any holiday that encourages champagne, I’m all about. Second, I love getting all dressed up and it’s the perfect reason to wear something sparkly without overdoing it! Finally, I love the time to reflect on what has happened in the past year and what my hopes and goals are for 2017… I am such a list maker, so I love writing out personal goals, plans for the house, next travel adventures, etc. Knowing that anything can happen and that best is yet to come is a great feeling.
Now, the first trick to being prepared for NYE is to not wait until the last minute to buy your bubbly! Make sure you go to the store ASAP – you don’t want to be forced to buy something that you didn’t really plan on getting. Seriously, go now!
I want to share my five favorite bottles of champagne for toasting. There’s no better way to ring in the new year than with a glass of champagne in hand. Not all champagnes are created equal, but you can’t go wrong with any of these. Impress your family and friends with these bottles of bubbly!
Trader Joe’s Reserve North Coast Brut
Okay, some people may be judging, but if you didn’t know already Trader Joe’s has some (actually a hell of a lot of) quality alcohol. Their cheap prices may make some apprehensive, but this bottle has some serious bubbles that will make you want to keep refilling your glass! This bottle is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Menier and comes from the coast of northern California. I realllllly suggest you try it – plus is only costs $10. Actually buy two – you’ll love its refreshing taste!
Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut
So maybe you are into the finer things in life? If so, this champagne is for you! Moet & Chandon is made from French wine and by one of the largest producing champagne companies. Known for its luxurious reputation, this is definitely a bottle to show off when you are really up for celebrating something special (the new year is the perfect occasion). It’s smooth taste and abundant bubbles are the perfect way to start any toast. The only downside is the price of around $50 – but if you want to feel fancy this will do the trick!
Chardonnay Faborg 21 Brut
Sometimes companies get me with their product design – and this happens to be one of those times it really got me. THAT BOTTLE IS DOPE! Seriously, how stunning is this gold bottle. If this looks familiar, it’s because it is the same bottle that Andy and I used for our love and wine letter ceremony box. I was shocked that it only prices between $15-$20! The bubbles are smaller, and it is nice and light, so you can keep filling up when you are getting low! This looks great in any ice bucket you want to put on display.
La Granja 360 Brut 360 Cava Brut
Champagne from a family owned winery in Spain that won’t disappoint! The bubbles are big and bold, and its drier taste is nice when you need something not too sweet. It’s perfect when paired with appetizers and is sold at Trader Joe’s (winning!) for only $6.99. I definitely recommend this if you have any family or friends who are new to champagne. It’s so refreshing and perfect to toast before you go celebrate out on the town!
Mionetto Prosecco Brut
If prosecco and brut had a baby it would be this delicious bubbly! This Italian sparkling wine is the perfect mix of dry, crisp, and sweet. Its blend goes down easy and makes you want to keep celebrating. It retails for $15-20 and it’s fruity notes will make your taste buds dance the night away! This is also DELICIOUS when used for mimosas since it blends very well with orange juice.
So whether your budget for this NYE is under ten or over fifty dollars, there’s something for everyone! I hope this little cheat sheet will help you when you try to impress your loved ones by starting the New Year off right with the perfect glass of bubbly!
