Life is short, buy the shoes.
Once I left work today, it marked the start of my vacation (insert confetti toss)! I can’t believe how quickly it has sprung up on me and over the past several weeks I have been busy getting things ready and shopping for my trip.
As you all know, I love a good HomeGoods shopping spree. I know that T.J Maxx is affiliated, however, I never seem to shop there as much since I usually am on the look out for home decor versus shopping for clothes or shoes.
If you are like me and have been apparently living under a rock for the past year – I didn’t realize how many designer shoes T.J Maxx carries! My closet is overflowing and I am running out of room to store everything, but in the rules of shopping when you find a good deal you must take it! Okay, so maybe I made that up, but it makes me feel less guilty.
It was shocking to see all the discounted shoes from designers such Michael Kors, Steve Madden, Coach, Tommy Hilger, and, low and behold, my favorite, kate spade!
I don’t buy something just because of the brand label – believe it or not. I truly have to love something to purchase it. I won’t buy something I don’t like simply because of who makes it. However, I do love buying brand names because I know I’m investing in better quality compared to an off brand shoe.
Kate Spade Jelly Sandal
I saw only part of this shoe sticking out on the rack and I was hit by a childhood flashback – jelly sandals. Nothing made me feel cooler than being 9 and rocking a pair of sparkly jelly flip flops. I’m not afraid to say that as a 26 year old, I am DYING to rock a pair of jelly sandals.
I grabbed these in my size only to find one small thing that makes me really happy- a little gold spade on the shoe. Ugh, kate spade does it again. I’m sure these shoes originally came out a while ago, but I didn’t know they existed until now. After I squeaked with excitement on the inside and imaginary confetti flew off from the shelf, I tried them on and they fit like a
glove Cinderella’s glass slipper. I know these shoes will be the perfect summer accessory to bring some pops of color with some of my black dresses I love wearing! They will make a plain white tank and shorts so much more fun as well.
I looked these up on online and the prices range from $68-$78 but I grabbed these designer shoes for only $30. My inner child is smiling when I put these little sparklers on! These will be absolutely perfect for summer.
Steve Madden Gladiator Sandal
I love adding some edge and chic style to my outfits whenever possible. I have gotten more adventurous in my shoe style over the past several years.
Let’s be real – sometimes shoes can change an entire outfit (if you ever have read UsWeekly and looked at the section Who Wore It Better, shoes can be a make or break to an outfit).
I have been wanting a black flip flop that can completely change the look of a simple outfit such as jean shorts and a black tank? What would be better than these adorable lace-up flops that make me feel like I’m conquering the day even if it means I’m just going to the grocery store. I also love pairing these with a simple, casual black dress.
For this gladiator sandal, I found they ranged in price from about $65 and got them for half the price at $30. Mission accomplished!
Tommy Hilfiger Sandal
A while back I had to go to my husband’s work event at the polo match and wanted to find a great pair of shoes to walk around in. I didn’t want to wear my everyday, casual, tan flip-flop. Instead, I wanted something that looked a little nicer without breaking the bank. I found this great Tommy Hilfiger Sandal that would be the perfect match.
Not only is it comfortable, but for $30 it was the perfect addition while I was in my sundress sipping on bubbly and munching on hor d’oeuvres. Winning!
It’s a little dressier than an ordinary tan flip flop and I can forsee this becoming a regular part of my outfit for Sunday Brunch!
So whether you are looking for the perfect shoe or just bored and want to go on a weekend adventure or maybe shopping for your next vacation – I recommend checking out your local T.J Maxx. I hate spending a fortune on shoes so I plan on going back on the regular just to see what they have in stock!
Happy shopping and see y’all once I’m back.
