Who needs luck when you are sipping on this?
St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner. I wish I was one of those people who went all out on this holiday, but realistically each year I get older it gets harder to celebrate… but this year it is on a Friday!
I enjoy reminiscing about the good old college days where you knew spring was in the air and the bars were filled with cups of green beer. Life was good.
Who says life still can’t be fun?! I decided to skip out on the green beer and incorporate two of my favorite things to celebrate this St. Patty’s day: champagne and candy – such a heavenly combo!
If you are feeling some green alcohol this holiday, then this drink will definitely make it look like you stepped up your drinking game since college. Do you really think I would ever pass up on candy mixed with some bubbly?!
Green Rock Candy Champagne
Full glass of champagne
Green rock candy
How simple is that? All you need to do is place the rock candy down into your champagne flute. Sip away and slowly see your drink turn green and let the sugar dissolve into sweet deliciousness!
I recommend getting a brut or extra-dry champagne to pair with the sweetness of the rock candy. I personally used a brut champagne from Trader Joe’s because not only is it dry, but it’s the perfect bottle to sip on by itself. It even pairs nicely with the saltiness of a corned beef sandwich. Feeling festive yet?!
If you can’t find candy in your local candy store, try HomeGoods! They often have it with their candy up front by the checkout. When in doubt, HomeGoods has everything (seriously)! Can’t find green rock candy? Buy some rock candy and dip it in some green food coloring and it will do just the trick! Cheers and enjoy!
Have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day while you enjoy this delicious green rock candy champagne drink!
