Every Party Needs a Little Something
My family is flying in to be here for the New Year! I am so excited to spend some quality time and share my NYE traditions with them.
Every year Andy and I go to the block party and pineapple drop in downtown Sarasota! The weather is perfect for outdoor drinking, there are tons of people, live music, street food and, at midnight, Sarasota drops the most adorable light up pineapple to ring in the new year (seriously a light up pineapple, what could be better?)!
We make a reservation at Patrick’s – the best burger spot downtown (nothing is better than a greasy burger and onion rings when you’ve been drinking all night) and it’s located right near where the pineapple drops, so you can run out in time for the countdown and your midnight kiss.
Since this year is the first time that all my family will be here to celebrate, I thought it would be the perfect excuse to buy some fun party decorations while we get ready at our house before going out. I found some things that were too cute to pass on and a steal to buy!
I plan on turning our buffet in our dining room into a chic bar space for our pregaming festivities before we go downtown. I found this cheers light up battery operated sign at Target for only $8 on their holiday endcap display. The best part about this sign is that it can be used year round for any other parties or get-togethers (so adorbs).
Photo Prop Kit
Where else would I find such a cute gold fringe back drop and photo props – HomeGoods of course. This 8 piece set was only $9.99 and is such a fun way to remember the night (even if you just want a great photo of your outfit). This is the perfect excuse to take a picture with your loved ones. I love how everything is NYE related but doesn’t say 2017 so I can use it for any future NYE parties (win!).
Anything involving champagne, I love, so I instantly fell in love with this glitzy champagne banner for only $3.99 from HomeGoods. This is perfect for any occasion that involves a celebration such as a birthday, promotion, or just for fun! I can’t wait to hang this up – keep an eye on Instagram for more pictures on NYE!
Anytime I go to Target, I have to go to the dollar bins to see what seasonal things they have. I found these festive napkins for $3 and the fact that they are gold foil makes me extra happy. These are the perfect little addition to our bar area I plan on setting up to kick off the night. Cheers to finding this steal!
Several weeks ago we went to Ikea when we were designing our office and like any Ikea trip, I found something I totally didn’t need, but wanted. I scored this $10 champagne bucket. The quality is superb, which is hard to find in a good champagne bucket that you don’t want to spend an arm and leg on. It will fit perfectly on our bar area and makes the perfect accessory to show off your favorite bottle of bubbly!
It’s not too late to pick up a little something for your NYE party festivities before you go out. It’s a fun way to get in the moment and think of all the fun, exciting memories you had in 2016 and I cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store!
Bubbly Wife Tip: Wear something sparkly and be bold. New Year’s is a way to embrace the best that is yet to come. Don’t worry what anyone else is wearing, as long as you feel good nothing else matters! Have fun with your outfit!
